Ukip overturned a 1,170 Conservative majority to win the Godstone division in the Surrey County Council elections on 2 May 2013. The Horley-based leader of Reigate and Banstead Borough Council failed to hold the seat for the Tories.
There were no changes in the other five Tandridge-based seats, with John Orrick holding Caterham Hill with an increased majority.
In Lingfield division, the Conservative incumbant held off a challenge from independent candidate Chris D'Avray who slashed the Tory's majority by 1,171 votes. The Coalition Government has announced a £2.7 million boost for school sports in Surrey from September.
Every state primary school in Surrey will receive funding for sports in 2013/14 and 2014/15.

Surrey County Council's Tory-run administration has rejected a call by the Liberal Democrats for the County's speed limits policy to be changed to make it easier for 20mph zones to be introduced where evidence says they are required and they are supported by local residents.
County Council Conservatives are happy that arrangements for the protection of children in Surrey meets "minimum requirements".
